Getting started

Guide: Get started with Loggr

What is Loggr?

Loggr is an app for tracking, every day, anything you want to keep an eye on: sleep, mood, headaches, coffee, steps, blood pressure or something only you track. You choose what you track, log it in a few taps each day, and Loggr shows how it changes over time and how the things you track relate to each other.

The value is in the patterns between them, such as how your sleep relates to your energy the day after. That is why it pays to start with two or three related things rather than one.

Loggr runs on iPhone, Android and the web at app.loggr.cloud, with one account for all of them.

How do I create an account?

Open Loggr and choose how you want to sign up:

  • Continue with Google, Continue with Microsoft or Continue with Apple takes you straight in.
  • With Sign up you use your email address and a password of at least 8 characters.

The same choices are on iPhone, Android and the web, and you log in with the same method on every device.

What should I start tracking?

Start with two or three things that you think are related. One tracker shows a trend, but it takes at least two to see a pattern between them.

Some combinations that work well:

  • Sleep hours, energy and mood.
  • Coffee, water and headache.
  • Steps, screen time and how rested you feel.

A new account offers starter templates, such as Sleep & energy or Headache / migraine, each with four ready-made trackers. You uncheck anything you don't want to track. You can also find them later on an empty Today screen under Browse starter templates.

Which devices does Loggr work on?

Loggr works on iPhone, on Android and in the browser at app.loggr.cloud. Log in with the same account and you see the same trackers and data everywhere.

Buying Loggr Pro is only possible in the iPhone or Android app. Once you have Pro, it also works in the browser when you log in with the same account.

How do I change the language of the app?

Go to Settings, Appearance, Language and pick one of the 24 languages. Choose System to follow the language of your device or browser, which is what Loggr does by default.

What you track

Guide: Set up what you track

What is a tracker?

A tracker is one thing you log each day, such as Sleep hours, Coffee or Headache. Each tracker has a name, an icon and a kind. The kind decides how you log it: a number you count up, a yes or no, a slider, a choice from a list, free text or a blood pressure reading.

You find everything you track under Settings, Manage what you track.

How do I start tracking something new?

Go to Settings, Manage what you track and tap the + button.

  • Pick an Icon.
  • Type the Name.
  • Choose the Kind and set its options, such as the choices or the scale range.
  • Tap Start tracking.

It appears on Today straight away. The kind cannot be changed later, so pick it with care.

Which kinds of values are there?

Loggr has six kinds:

  • Number: a counter you raise and lower with minus and plus, in whole steps from 0. Good for cups, glasses or pills.
  • Yes/No: a yes or no switch. Good for did I exercise or did I have a headache.
  • Scale: a slider between two values with a step you choose, for example 0 to 12 in steps of 0.5 for sleep hours, or 1 to 10 for mood.
  • Choice list: one choice from a list you make yourself.
  • Text: free text, with suggestions from what you typed before if you switch them on.
  • Blood pressure: the top (SYS) and bottom (DIA) number in mmHg.

Settings, Kinds of values explains each one in the app.

Can I log a number with decimals, like my weight?

A Number counts in whole steps from 0, so it does not take decimals. Use a Scale instead: set From and To around your range and choose an Interval such as 0.1 or 0.5. The slider then snaps to those steps.

The range has to be divisible by the interval, for example 50 to 120 in steps of 0.5.

Can I rename a tracker or change its kind?

You can change the name, the icon and the options of a tracker. Go to Settings, Manage what you track, tap the tracker, make the change and tap Save changes. Everything you logged stays with it, also after a new name.

The kind can't be changed after you create it. To switch to another kind, track it again with the new kind and switch the old one off or delete it.

How do I change the order of what I track?

Go to Settings, Manage what you track and drag your trackers into the order you want. Today uses the same order, and so do the columns of an export.

What is the difference between switching a tracker off and deleting it?

Switching a tracker off with its switch in What you track hides it from Today, Timeline and Stats. Everything you logged is kept, and switching it back on brings it all back.

Deleting a tracker removes it and every value you ever logged for it, for good. Loggr asks you to confirm first, because this cannot be undone.

How many trackers can I have for free?

Free has room for 5 trackers. When you add a sixth, or switch on a sixth, Loggr shows what Loggr Pro adds. With Pro you can track as much as you like.

Trackers you switch off still count toward the 5 on Free, so delete the ones you no longer need.

Logging

Guide: Log your day

How do I log my day?

Open Today and log your values: tap plus or minus on a number, flip a switch, drag a slider, pick a choice, type text or type your blood pressure.

There is no Save button. Every change is saved as soon as you make it. If saving fails, Loggr tells you and puts the old value back, so you can try again.

How do I log a day I forgot?

On Today, use the arrows next to the date to go back one day at a time. To jump further, tap the date, pick the day in Choose a date and log as usual. Go to today brings you back.

You can also tap a day in Timeline to open it on Today.

How do I remove a value I logged by mistake?

It depends on the kind:

  • Text: clear the text.
  • Choice list: open the list and clear the choice.
  • Number: tap minus back to 0.
  • Yes/No: switch it back off.

The change is saved straight away.

Can I add a note to a day?

Loggr has no separate notes. Add a tracker of the kind Text, for example Notes or What happened, and it shows up on Today like everything else you track. Switch on Use suggestions if you often type the same things.

What does Auto-fill missing days do?

Number and Scale have the option Auto-fill missing days, which is on by default. On a day where you logged other things but not this one, Loggr counts it as 0 for a number, or as the lowest value for a scale.

Keep it on for daily counters such as coffee or water, where not logging means none. Switch it off under Edit tracker for things you log now and then, such as a workout. Days without a value are then left out of its stats.

Timeline and stats

Guide: Read your stats

What does Timeline show?

Timeline shows the last 30 days in a strip at the top, with a dot on every day you logged something. Below it is a card for each logged day with its values.

Tap a card to open that day on Today and change it.

What can I see in Stats?

Stats opens on General, with Days tracked and your Most logged tracker. Choose a tracker at the top to see its own numbers, which depend on the kind: averages and a trend chart for Number and Scale, days with yes and runs of yes for Yes/No, a distribution for Choice list, the most frequent values for Text and a classification for blood pressure.

Choose Week, Month or Year to change the period. Only periods in which you logged something are offered.

Why does a Number have two averages?

Average on logged days only counts the days you logged something for it. Average per calendar day spreads the total over every day of the period, also the days you logged nothing.

If you logged 3 cups of coffee on 2 days of a week, the first average is 3 and the second is 6 divided by 7.

Insights

Guide: Insights between what you track

What are insights?

Insights point out patterns between the things you track, for example that you feel more energetic on days after more sleep, or that headaches come more often the day after a day with little water. You find them on the Insights card in Stats, and tapping one explains how to read it.

An insight shows that two things go together in your data, not that one causes the other.

Insights are part of Loggr Pro.

Why don't I see any insights yet?

Insights need enough days. A period needs at least 3 logged days before anything shows, and a pattern between two trackers needs both of them logged on the same days: at least 4 days in a week, 8 in a month or 20 in a year.

If there is no clear pattern yet, Loggr says so and asks you to keep logging. Switching to Year often helps, because it has the most days. Also check that Insights is switched on under Settings, Data & privacy.

Is my data sent to an outside service for the insights?

No. Loggr calculates insights on your own device, by comparing how your values change from day to day with fixed rules. Your values are not sent to any outside service to produce them.

You can switch insights off under Settings, Data & privacy, Insights.

Reminders

Guide: Daily reminders

How do I set a daily reminder?

Go to Settings, Manage notifications and, under Push reminders, switch on Daily reminder. Under Schedule you choose for each day of the week whether you get a reminder and at what time.

A new account starts with a reminder at 20:00 every day. Allow notifications for Loggr on your device, or in your browser on the web, or the reminder cannot reach you.

My reminder does not arrive. What can I do?

Check these in order:

  • Daily reminder is on under Settings, Manage notifications, and today is switched on in the Schedule.
  • Notifications for Loggr are allowed in your device's settings, or for app.loggr.cloud in your browser.
  • Do Not Disturb or a Focus mode is not hiding them.
  • The Time zone matches where you are. Automatic follows your device.

On the web, the Help button on the Notifications screen walks you through the browser settings.

How do I stop the emails from Loggr?

Go to Settings, Manage notifications and switch off Onboarding & helpful nudges under Email. These are the occasional emails while you get started.

Loggr Pro

Guide: Loggr Pro

What do I get with Loggr Pro?

Loggr Pro adds three things to Free:

  • Unlimited trackers, instead of 5.
  • Insights that show patterns between the things you track.
  • Export of all your data as a CSV file.

Logging, Timeline, all the Stats, reminders and Keep data are free for everyone.

How do I buy Loggr Pro?

In the iPhone or Android app, go to Settings and tap Upgrade to Pro under Subscription. Choose Yearly, Monthly or Lifetime and pay through the App Store or Google Play. Lifetime is a one-time purchase.

Pro cannot be bought in the browser. It is linked to your Loggr account, so once you have it, it also works at app.loggr.cloud and on your other devices when you log in with the same account.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Your subscription runs through the App Store or Google Play, so you cancel it there. In the app, go to Settings, tap Manage subscription and then Cancel subscription, which opens the store's subscription page. You can also go there directly in your device's settings.

Pro keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting your Loggr account does not cancel the subscription. A Lifetime purchase has nothing to cancel.

I paid for Pro but the app says Free. What now?

First check that you are logged in with the same Loggr account you bought Pro on. Then open the paywall from Settings and tap Restore purchases. Loggr looks up the purchases of your App Store or Google Play account and links an active one to the Loggr account you are logged in with.

Restoring moves Pro to this account. If Pro was on another Loggr account, that account goes back to Free. Its extra trackers are switched off, not deleted.

How do I use a discount code?

Open the paywall from Settings and tap Have a discount code?

  • On iPhone, Apple's own screen for offer codes opens. Type the code there.
  • On Android, type the code and tap Apply. The paywall then shows the discounted prices, and you pay as usual through Google Play.

Codes do not work in the browser. Capitals do not matter. After 5 wrong attempts you have to wait an hour. A code you applied but did not buy with is released again after 7 days.

What happens to what I track if Pro ends?

Nothing is deleted. You go back to Free with room for 5 switched-on trackers, and the ones beyond that are switched off. Their data stays where it is. Switch trackers on and off in What you track to choose which 5 you keep logging, or take Pro again to use them all.

Your data

Guide: Your data: export and keep data

How do I export my data?

With Loggr Pro, go to Settings, Export data and choose CSV file. You get one row per day and one column per tracker, in the order of What you track. Blood pressure gets two columns, SYS and DIA. The file opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

In the browser the file downloads. On a phone or tablet Loggr saves it and opens the share sheet, so you can send it or put it in Files.

The export includes switched-off trackers too.

Can Loggr delete old data automatically?

Yes. Go to Settings, Keep data and choose Keep last 12 months or Keep last 6 months. Loggr first tells you how many days with data that removes and asks you to confirm. Those days are deleted at once, and from then on older days are removed every night.

This cannot be undone. Keep all data, the default, never removes anything.

Where is my data stored and who can see it?

What you track and your values are stored in your own account in Google Firebase, in data centres in the EU. Only you can read them when you are logged in. Loggr does not sell your data and shows no ads.

Insights are calculated on your device. Purchases go through RevenueCat, the App Store and Google Play, and the help chat runs on Aidbase. The full details are in the privacy policy at loggr.cloud/privacy-policy.

Can I import data from another app?

No, Loggr has no import. You start logging from today, or go back day by day on Today to log earlier days by hand.

Devices and sync

Guide: Use Loggr on more devices and offline

Can I use Loggr on more than one device?

Yes. Log in with the same account on your phone, a second phone or tablet, and app.loggr.cloud. What you log on one shows up on the others within moments.

If you change the same tracker on the same day on two devices, the last change counts.

Does Loggr work without an internet connection?

Yes. Loggr keeps a copy of your data on the device, so you can open it and log without a connection. What you log offline is sent as soon as you are back online and then shows up on your other devices.

If Loggr cannot save a value, it tells you and puts the old value back.

Account

Guide: Your account and privacy

I can't get in. Which login method did I use?

Your data belongs to the account you signed up with, so use the same method as the first time: Google, Microsoft, Apple or your email address. Logging in another way creates a new, empty account.

Did you sign up with your email address and forget the password? Tap Forgot password? on the Log in screen and you get an email to set a new one.

How do I change my name or password?

Go to Settings and tap your name under Profile. Under Account information you change your Name and, with Change password, your password.

This only works for accounts made with an email address. If you log in with Google, Microsoft or Apple, your name and password are managed by that service.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings, tap your name under Profile, and choose Delete account under Danger zone. Type DELETE to confirm and tap Delete.

Loggr then deletes your account with everything you track, all your data, your settings and your reminders. This cannot be undone. Want to keep your data? Export it first.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription in the App Store or Google Play. Cancel that in the store first.

How do I log out?

Go to Settings and tap Log out at the bottom, under About. Your data stays in your account and is there again when you log back in.

Troubleshooting

How do I get help or report a problem?

In the app, go to Settings, Help to chat with the assistant. If it cannot solve your question, create a ticket from the same screen and we answer by email. You can also email support@loggr.cloud.

Ideas and bugs are welcome under Settings, Feedback.
